Staff were very proffesional helpful and friendly, the hotel has a very relaxed atmosphere and is in a great location.
The food was very good, room was also good, sTAFF were very HeLPFUL and friendly.
Sreeaming children in the restaurant in the evening, there was a great clash between the ambience of the restaurant with excellent food and very good service and good decor and lighting and these screaming children, with buggies being pushed through. Ask children under 5 to eat between 6.30 and 7.15pm and ban buggies. Music left on overnight in bar area.
Staff were very friendly and we had a very warm welcoming, our room had a lovely view of the lakes, great facilities in the room and very good room service.
It's a perfict hotel I love it, staff is good, beakfast is excellent, location is exactly what I was looking for .. In general I recommend it to my friends and family
No swimming pool & the value for money
Very inviting, an air of sophistication and calm, beautiful rooms and the most comfortable bed I have slept in. We were aided by splendid weather and breathtaking views of the Lake. All in all despite just a week end away it felt like longer and I came home refreshed. We will go again.
absence of Halal or enough Vegetarian menue. Also, some arabic chanels will be recomended.
Excellent in every respect-comfortable,well-equipped room, splendidly stylish bathroom,excellently-run restaurant, with very good food served by attentive, but not over-fussy staff.(See questionnaire filled by us,occupants of room 39).
Very friendly and efficient staff, contemporary smart design, good restaurant on site for both breakfast and dinner.
Room was clean in main areas but some dust under tv and on some nasty dried flowers in bathroom. Hotel although by the lake with nice views is actually right on a busy road so the rooms are quite noisy (and there isnt double glazing - possibly due to listed status perhaps who knows) but we both sleep well so its not an issue for us. If you are light sleepers though it could be a problem.
Fantstic location by lakeside at the waterhead. Boutique hotel in the countryside. Fantastic rooms - great design and v comfortable.
Mostly European staff but v friendly. Shame because this meant the hotel lost the idea of having local, friendly advice.
As a stay at the Waterhead was excellent cannot be faulted.
Really great hotel, not overpriced and perfect for a really relaxing trip to the lakes.
My partner had booked this hotel as a short break and to enable him to propose. He had told the hotel staff about this and they we're brilliant. They arranged for a room upgrade, free champagne and members of staff congratulated us throughout the night (we had our evening meal at the hotel restaurant). The food was great, the room view looking over Lake Windermere was beautiful and we were able to stroll into Ambleside town centre to look in the shops. We would definitely recommend this hotel and will more than likely return in the future.
food, service, the room, the little extras
Room size was excellent but overall a bit pricey for what you got.
No Zinfandel left for dinner, not very good, menu for the food was limited could do with a little more choice especially if staying more than 2 days.. No sky tv
Quiet comfy well furnished rooms, good bathroom. Enjoyed having filtered ground coffee with the teas-maid. Staff friendly, polite and helpful. Good breakfast.
